The Risk Management Association (RMA) is a not-for-profit, member-driven professional association dedicated to advancing the use of sound risk management principles in the financial services industry. Founded in 1914, RMA was originally called the Robert Morris Associates, named after the principal financier of the Revolutionary War who helped establish the country’s banking system. Founded in 1999, the International Factoring Association (IFA) provides information, training, purchasing power, and a resource for the Factoring community. By working together, Commercial Factors have the opportunity to discuss a variety of issues and concerns in the industry and disseminate information with a single voice in the marketplace. Association members also have group buying power in negotiating for goods and services.
Membership is open to all banks and finance companies that perform factoring through the purchase of invoices or other types of accounts receivable financing. All members must adhere to the IFA’s Code of Ethics.
The Commercial Finance Association (CFA) is the international trade association dedicated to connecting, educating, and informing the asset-based lending and factoring industries. Founded in 1944, the CFA has nearly 300 member companies and 20 chapters located throughout the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
